A 2-day program aimed at new to middle managers with the following objectives:

  • Understand and internalise the role of the manager in bringing the best out of your direct reports in an ever changing environment
  • Understand and use your own leadership style to manage internal changes (roles, attitudes) and effectively manage others through the adoption of alternative leadership styles
  • Identify areas of strength and weaknesses based on external feedback to generate creative options in solving problems that are within one’s control
  • Effectively manage work by delegating clearly and appropriately in a way that gives authority without abdicating responsibility
  • Effectively manage people by giving positive and negative feedback as well as motivating people when necessary

Who should attend:

  • Managers with less than 5 years of management experience, who want  increase their personal and team’s effectiveness by enhancing their leadership acumen and management skills

The Team Leader Program aims to equip managers with the foundational skills and disciplines of leadership.  The program enables managers to develop effectively by using a balance of assessment tools (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Managerial Styles Questionnaire) and skills practice in the areas of delegation and feedback.

The program will cover:

Day 1

  • Becoming a manager — your most difficult career transition
  • Leadership styles using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
  • Delegation at work

Day 2

  • Using effective feedback
  • The Managerial Styles Questionnaire
  • Developing ourselves
